“My recent experimental artwork is done with simple paper cut-outs,” Maries writes us, “which I put together for the moment without glue and swept away after the photoshoot.”
Maries is referring to her DIARY project, which she describes as “a personal playground for any kind of ideas and inspiration – and less applied than ‘everyday business’ sometimes is.”
Such beauty for fleeting viewing may seem ridiculous to some; but perhaps knowing that these constructions only lived as long as the photoshoot took place makes them all the more special.
